It's that whispering voice inside you, urging you to reach for your true potential, to discover a path that feels right, yet you're unsure of the next step. Trust me, you're not alone in this. So many of us find ourselves stuck in these habitual loops, yearning for change but unsure how to make it happen.

This is where the concept of an "energy shift" comes into play—a potent and effective tool to push through barriers and transform your everyday routines. We've all heard that famous quote: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." While we may understand this logically, truly embodying this concept and knowing how to apply it to our daily lives can be challenging.

Breaking Free from Habit Loops

We are creatures of habit—little "habit machines" running on autopilot most of the time. Our days are filled with automatic responses and routines that shape who we are. For instance, how many times have you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock without even thinking about it? This small habit may feel insignificant, but it's part of a larger pattern that keeps us in our comfort zones.


To truly change, we need to disrupt these habitual patterns—what I like to call our "habit loops." By making an energy shift, we create a break in these loops, allowing us to see things from a different perspective and to start living in a way that aligns with our aspirations.

How to Make an Energy Shift

An energy shift involves changing something—anything—about your environment or routine to spark a new kind of energy within you. For example, let's go back to that alarm clock. Instead of keeping it beside your bed, try moving it to a different part of the room each night. This simple act forces you to get up and move, breaking the habitual snooze cycle.

The same applies to countless other situations in our daily lives. Imagine you receive a message from someone who usually brings you down. Instead of reacting in your typical way, change the environment—step outside, take a deep breath, or even just smile. These small shifts in behavior can disrupt negative patterns and open you up to new possibilities.

Quick and Simple Energy Shifts

There are countless ways to create an energy shift, and it doesn't have to be complicated. Here are some of my favorite methods:

  1. Dance It Out:

    Moving your body, even if it's just a little groove in your chair, can shift your energy almost instantly. Create a go-to playlist filled with songs that make you want to move. When you feel stuck, turn up the music and dance. You'll be surprised how quickly this can change your mood and mindset.

  2. Open a Window: 

    It might sound simple, but opening a window can change the energy in a room dramatically. Fresh air brings in a new energy frequency, making the space feel lighter and more vibrant.

  3. Light a Candle or Incense: Scent is powerful and can instantly shift your mood. Lighting a candle or burning some incense can create a calming or invigorating atmosphere, depending on your need.Beyond the Price Tag.

  4. Tap into Positive Memories: Think about a time when you felt on fire—when you were productive, energized, and unstoppable. Visualize that moment, feel it in your body, and use that memory to fuel your current state.

  5. Surround Yourself with Energising People: Sometimes, being around the right people can elevate your energy like nothing else. Whether it's attending a workshop, meeting up with a friend who lifts you up, or simply being in a space filled with positive energy, these experiences can provide you with a well of energy to draw from long after the event has ended.

Embracing the Power of Energy Shifts

An energy shift can happen in a split second. It could be as simple as getting up and moving your body differently, changing the air you breathe, or recalling a powerful memory. The key is to recognize that you have the power to change your state at any moment.

Consider a recent experience I had at a vision board workshop I hosted. The room was filled with incredible energy. We were not only getting vulnerable and sharing our dreams, but we were also empowering each other, feeding off each other's positive vibes. That energy stayed with me all week, and every time I felt a slump, I tapped into the memory of that evening, and it lifted me right back up.

Your Challenge: Create an Energy Shift

Today, I challenge you to break free from one of your habit loops. Make a conscious decision to do something differently—whether it's moving your alarm clock, dancing to your favorite song, or opening a window. Notice how this small change can create a ripple effect throughout your day.

Remember, understanding that doing the same thing won't bring different results is one thing; embodying this truth is another. To achieve different outcomes, we must take different actions. So, let’s start shifting our energy today and create the change we desire.
